Vocal Instructor
This job is ideal for an accomplished musician who wants to join a special music community and help develop the next generation of musicians. School of Rock Mason is part of the worldwide School of Rock network dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. We put on shows to teach music! Since we opened in 2012, we have rehearsed and performed more than 250 shows to help develop our students. We teach primarily students from 1st grade through high school, but we have programs for adults as well. We are more than a music school—we are a place where our students can grow in confidence, connect with others, feel like they belong, and be happy.
About the Role
We are looking for a Bass Instructor who can help with our music education but also inspire and build our community. While the role is primarily for bass instruction, we welcome instructors who can teach more than one instrument (keys, vocals, guitar, bass, or drums). Strong instructors also have the opportunity to become show directors, choosing music for performances, casting students, and leading show rehearsals.
Responsibilities
- Maximize the quality of music instruction during private lessons, including helping students prepare for shows.
- Teach students to sing safely (if applicable) and ensure they learn music fundamentals, not just songs.
- Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.

- Interact with parents and students by being visible and accessible in the school.
- Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
- Strong ability to teach vocals and music in general (formal music school training is a plus).
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of students and parents.
- Ability to work well under pressure with enthusiasm, flexibility, patience, and a positive demeanor.
- Good judgment and a passion for teaching.
Benefits
- Competitive salary
- Flexible schedule
- Training & development opportunities
