About the Role
School of Rock Huntington is seeking a Vocal Instructor to join our passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. With over 425 schools worldwide, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider, known for its dynamic approach to teaching music through shows and performances.
Responsibilities
- Maximize the quality of music instruction, including private lessons and shows.
- Ensure students learn music fundamentals, not just songs.
- Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents on student progress.
- Interact with parents and students by being visible and accessible in the school.
- Assist during canceled lessons and in the overall execution of the program.
- Support rehearsals and basic school maintenance.
- Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies.
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
- Excellent ability to deal with a wide range of customers and people.
- Strong organizational and customer relations skills.
- Resourceful problem-solver who works well under pressure.
- Formal music school training preferred.
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
- Good judgment and a passion for teaching.
