Vmware Engineer
About the role
Seeking a Virtualization Administrator / VMware Engineer with strong experience supporting enterprise data center and hybrid cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, VMware Cloud Foundation, and VMware Cloud Director, along with expertise in infrastructure monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or APC StruxureWare.
Candidate should have experience operating within DoD or Federal environments, including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, RMF compliance, and POA&M management. Must be comfortable supporting mission-critical infrastructure across on-prem, AWS, and Azure environments while participating in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities.
Responsibilities
- Administer VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), and VMware Cloud Director (VCD).
- Support enterprise data center and hybrid cloud environments.
- Operate within DoD or Federal environments, including system hardening, vulnerability remediation, RMF compliance, and POA&M management.
- Monitor infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, APC StruxureWare, or VMware monitoring.
- Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for mission-critical infrastructure.
Requirements
- 8+ years of infrastructure, virtualization, or systems administration experience.
- VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter administration.
- Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and/or VMware Cloud Director (VCD).
- Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, APC StruxureWare, VMware monitoring).
- DoD cybersecurity compliance, STIGs, RMF, POA&M experience.
- Security+ or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Schedule
This is a fully onsite, contract position based in Kansas City, MO.
