Position Summary
The Manufacturing Associate in the VLS (Vertical Launch System) department performs a range of mechanical and labor functions in a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include setting up and operating various manufacturing equipment such as drills, sanders, and hand power tools, along with test equipment. Responsibilities include:
- Setup and run various manufacturing equipment, including drills, sanders, hand power tools, and test equipment.
- Work with paints, adhesives, solvents, and primers.
- Perform visual quality inspections of parts.
- Follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Works to a daily schedule to meet/ exceed output targets.
- Complete all internal departmental documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate well between departments, to notify leaders and engineers to problem solve issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machines.
- Use appropriate PPE for designated area.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship or have U.S. Permanent Resident Status required.
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Relevant Work Experience: 2+ years of manufacturing experience required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to perform basic math, reading, writing and computer skills such as basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and use of Microsoft Office.
- Personal/ Soft skills: Must Demonstrate effective organizational and verbal/written English communication skills.
- Able to lift and or move up to 40 lbs.
- Able to work 2nd shift ( 2:15 - 10:45 PM )
