About the role
Joining a new Wayfair store launch means being part of something special from Day 1. During the first several weeks, you will work alongside the team to help set up, organize, and prepare the store for opening, which will look different from your long term day to day responsibilities. This hands on, team first experience helps bring our store to life and sets us up for success once we open our doors to the community and our customers.
Responsibilities
- Execute Visual Standards: Support the execution of visual floorsets, maintain accurate signage, and help with daily visual upkeep like folding, steaming, bed-making, and keeping the store looking its best.
- Maintain Presentation Excellence: Make real-time adjustments to displays based on direction from store leaders and visual guides, ensuring everything aligns with brand standards and looks great for guests.
- Support Merchandise Flow: Replenish the sales floor with key items and ensure displays stay full, shoppable, and aligned with current promotions.
- Use Visual Tools with Confidence: Use store tech and visual merchandising tools to complete daily tasks, reference floorset plans, and maintain presentation consistency.
- Engage with Guests: Provide helpful, friendly service while assisting with questions, guiding guests through product stories, or helping with wayfinding and availability.
- Be a Team Player: Collaborate with store leadership and cross-functional teams to prioritize store needs, adapt to business shifts, and keep our space guest-ready.
- Welcome Feedback: Take coaching in stride, implement visual direction with precision, and stay eager to learn and grow in the role.
- Stay Nimble: Thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, new products, and seasonal updates that keep the store fresh and exciting.
- Operate as “One Team”: You will support Wayfair’s total store goals by cross-training across key store functions, including sales and back-of-house operations. You'll flex where needed to support customers, teammates, store needs and peak business periods.
Requirements
- Retail Visual Experience: 1–3 years of experience supporting visual merchandising, department resets, or store presentation (required).
- Customer-Facing Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a retail or service role where you engaged directly with guests (preferred).
- Tech Confidence: Comfortable navigating store technology and visual tools, and ready to learn new platforms.
- Schedule Flexibility: Willing to work a retail schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
- Eye for Detail: You notice what others might miss and take pride in executing tasks with care and consistency.
- Adaptability & Professionalism: Able to stay calm under pressure, adapt to change, and represent Wayfair with warmth, professionalism, and a guest-first mindset.

- Mobility & Movement: Frequent stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the day.
- Lifting Ability: Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs independently on a regular basis. Some projects may involve heavier items, which must be managed with proper assistance or equipment.
- Vision Requirements: Includes close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
