Visual Merchandiser (PA)

About the role

Ashley Furniture is hiring a Visual Store Merchandiser to cover store locations in Monroeville and McKnight. This position is part of a family-owned company committed to employee care, customer satisfaction, and community involvement.

Responsibilities

• Promotes teamwork by collaborating with peers, supervisors, and co-workers to ensure the best interests of the operation.
• Critiques the floor daily and reviews ISTs to determine product placement in the showroom.
• Maintains and prepares the visual content of the showroom on a weekly basis.
• Accessorizes and replenishes product vignettes.
• Provides design assistance to sales staff and customers to complete sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Communicates with the Visual Merchandise Manager, Store Managers, and Merchandise Manager through daily Critique Sheets.
• Assists dock personnel with the receipt and placement of product to replenish visual displays.
• Directs dock/warehouse personnel in the flow and placement of product.
• Prioritizes workload to complete all assigned daily tasks within the required time limit.
• Assists in the display design and set up of new or remodeled showrooms as a member of the design team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to create visual displays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and listening skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension skills.
• Basic numerical reasoning skills.
• Ability to complete paperwork accurately, neatly, and efficiently.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic PC skills.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs, frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs, and occasionally push and pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and reach regularly.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders regularly.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to use vision to read documents and computer screens.
• Ability to use hands to type information into a computer and use hand tools.
• Ability to paint and wallpaper displays; place signage.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
• One to two years of previous experience working in fashion merchandising, retail merchandising, furniture retail, or visual design/merchandising experience is highly preferred.
• A degree in Interior Design is highly preferred, and/or a combination of experience and college/technical school art or design education preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive to other store locations.
• Should have the ability to travel up to 75%.
