Visual Merchandiser – Brand & Signage
About the Role
The Visual Merchandiser – Brand & Signage is responsible for bringing the brand to life across every physical location. This role ensures that exterior signage, promotional displays, site messaging, and visual brand standards are consistently executed across the portfolio. The individual serves as the bridge between Marketing, Operations, Construction, and field teams to create a visually compelling customer experience that strengthens brand recognition, improves site visibility, and drives customer engagement.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, exceptional project management skills, and experience executing brand standards across multiple locations.
Primary Directive: Ensure every customer-facing visual element—from exterior signage and promotional campaigns to menu boards and site merchandising—reinforces the brand, enhances the customer journey, and creates a consistent experience across all locations.
Responsibilities
- Brand Standards & Visual Execution
- Own and maintain visual merchandising standards across all locations.
- Develop and distribute visual brand guidelines for field execution.
- Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with approved brand standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve curb appeal, site presentation, and customer perception.
- Partner with Operations to drive consistent execution across all markets.
- Exterior Signage Management
- Manage all exterior signage programs including monument signs, building signage, directional signage, promotional signage, and seasonal campaigns.
- Ensure signage remains current, accurate, and aligned with brand standards.
- Coordinate signage installation, replacement, repairs, and rebranding initiatives.
- Support new site openings, acquisitions, remodels, and conversions.
- Maintain a location-by-location signage inventory and condition assessment program.
- Promotional Merchandising
- Develop merchandising plans that support membership growth, sales initiatives, and promotional campaigns.
- Create standards for promotional displays, window graphics, banners, and point-of-sale messaging.
- Coordinate campaign rollouts to ensure consistency and on-time execution.
- Monitor effectiveness of visual campaigns and recommend improvements.
- Customer Journey
- Partner with Marketing and Operations teams to improve site navigation and ease of use.
- Evaluate customer flow and identify opportunities to improve signage clarity.
- Ensure wayfinding signage supports safety, efficiency, and conversion opportunities.
- Test new visual concepts and customer messaging to improve engagement.
- Vendor & Production Management
- Manage relationships with signage manufacturers, printers, installers, and production vendors.
- Obtain quotes, manage budgets, review proofs, and oversee installations.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to brand standards.
- Establish quality standards and SLAs for vendor performance.
- Field Support & Collaboration
- Serve as the primary point of contact for signage and visual merchandising requests from the field.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Operations, Construction, Real Estate, and Procurement teams.
- Train field leaders on merchandising standards and brand expectations.
- Develop toolkits and resources to support consistent execution.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail marketing, brand execution, signage, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of branding, layout, customer behavior, and visual communication.
- Experience managing multiple projects across a geographically dispersed environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in multi-unit retail, restaurant, convenience store, automotive service, or franchise environments.
- Experience working with signage vendors and production partners.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar design platforms.
- Experience supporting new store openings, remodels, or rebranding initiatives.
Pay
Base Pay Range: $57,800.00 - $103,100.00
