VISUAL INSTRUCTION DEVELOPER 3
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. This is a full-time, 1st shift role located at Newport News Shipbuilding. No relocation assistance or telework opportunities are available.
About the Role
Analyze digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs). Interpret and add design elements and portions of systems for VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements. Utilize computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP, and TDP. Incorporate required changes as applicable.
Advise management on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience
- One of the following may be substituted for the Associate's Degree:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, or Military experience
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of VWIs, TeamCenter, NX, NGP, or SAP
- Experience in Detail Planning or Production Control
- Shipbuilding experience
- Experience checking technical documents
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to adapt quickly to change
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with suppliers/customers

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $76,000.00 to $95,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
