Qualifications
- Visual Arts Education certification. (Endorsement 0200)
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Art, Visual Arts, or comparable degree.
- NH certification to teach in Visual Arts.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels (K-6).
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Responsibilities
- Organizes materials, tools, equipment and identifies materials for course needs.
- Aids in the development of technical handouts, instructional materials, and demos in both group and individualized formats, of all course content in the area of visual arts as outlined by K-6 curriculum.
- Participates in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) availability is part of this consultation model.
- Provides materials and curriculum that are engaging and age appropriate for students (K-6).
- In-person consultation on-site minimum 2x per month- required.
- Provides learning experiences in the area of visual arts guided by the NH state curriculum guidelines and district standards and requirements, while creating an environment that is conducive to a student’s learning and involvement.
- Designs, evaluates, and enhances curriculum and materials as appropriate.
- Promotes a collaborative environment between parents, clients, and staff.
- Provides individual and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities.
- Plans and displays art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students work for the school and community.
- Prepares and trains Special Education (SPED) teacher on standards-based science lessons in Grades K-6 with the support of classroom teachers.
- Clearly communicates the learning objectives and the importance to learning.
- Works collaboratively with district level staff to review and revise science curriculum and coordinate ordering and purchase of materials.

Position Summary
The successful candidate for Birch Behavioral school will function as a consultant overseeing student coursework and instruction for delivery of K-6 visual arts curriculum.
