Visitor Center Sales Associate Part Time

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Visitor Center Associate Manager oversees the Visitor Center operations, focusing on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the Visitor Center's stock levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Delivers a personalized service experience to visitors
• Welcome guests, offer samples, provide information, and guide visitors to attractions
• Sells food and non-food items, including macadamia nut and other products
• Operates POS systems and handles accurate transaction handling, including credit card processing
• Demonstrate a friendly and approachable demeanor with a focus on exceptional customer service
• Maintain MLMVC displays, ensure stock levels, and keep areas clean and hazard-free
• Assess inventory requirements, generate requisitions, conduct inventory checks, and report discrepancies
• Prepare food items for consumption in compliance with food safety regulations
• Keep accurate daily records

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• High School Diploma or equivalent with high school-level reading, writing, and math skills
• One (1) year of retail experience, preferably in a food retail setting
• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent attention-to-detail and customer service skills
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment
• Team player who collaborates effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and vendors
• Flexible schedule to accommodate business needs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Standing, walking, sitting, some stair climbing, bending, overhead reaching, forward reaching, grasping, wrist movement, repetitive motion, finger dexterity
• Occasional carrying/lifting up to 20 pounds
• Normal vision (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception), normal hearing, eye-hand-foot coordination

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization and customers, vendors, and outside tradespersons

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Office or store setting with light to moderate noise levels
• Periodically goes through the Plant where there are high noise levels (85+ dB)
