Visiting Professor of Exercise Science

About the role

The Department of Health and Human Performance (HHP) at Norwich University invites applicants for a full-time visiting instructor/assistant professor for one year, starting in Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teaching in the Exercise Science and Health Science programs
• Opportunities for scholarship and/or institutional service, including an interim position of Program Director of the CoAES-accredited Exercise Science program
• Strong teaching records and/or experience conducting research with undergraduates
• Passion for excellent teaching, with post-secondary level teaching experience preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student body
• Willingness to work collaboratively with other faculty

Requirements

• A doctorate in Exercise Science, Sport and Exercise Psychology or related field, is required for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor
• ABD candidates will be considered for the position of Visiting Instructor
• Demonstrate the ability to teach some or all of the following undergraduate courses: Nutrition, Introductory and Advanced Exercise and Sport Psychology, Research Methods, and various introductory level courses such as Scientific Foundations of Health and Wellness
