Visiting Legal Writing Professor (Teaching Faculty I, 9 Month Salaried) - College of Law

The Florida State University College of Law seeks a Legal Writing and Research program instructor.
Responsibilities
The instructor will teach a first-year, two semester course that both addresses research and writing skills and requires students to integrate legal analysis into their writing projects. During the second year, the instructor will teach another course within the instructor’s interest and expertise. This two-year visiting position is contingent on a review at the end of the first year, with the possibility of a non-visiting position offered at the end of the second year.
Qualifications
- Applicants must have a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, excellent academic records, and demonstrated strong writing abilities.
- Five years of experience in the legal and/or education field is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience in higher education is preferred, and/or experience such as judicial clerking or appellate practice.

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $70,000, commensurate with experience and education. Salaries are competitive with those for similar positions at other law schools.
