Visiting Lecturer-English

About the role
This is a one-year, full-time, non-renewable Visiting Lecturer position in the English Department at Texas Christian University. The position is on-campus and in-person, with a teaching load of 4 courses per semester. Courses will primarily be in composition, but may also include literature, creative writing, or any combination of the three.
Applicants are invited to demonstrate how they might contribute to the department's core mission of providing a socially just literacy education.
Responsibilities
- Teach 4 courses per semester, primarily in composition, with potential opportunities in literature or creative writing.
Requirements
- Minimum of a PhD in Composition and Rhetoric, English, or Creative Writing, or a related field, or an MFA in Creative Writing, or completion of all PhD requirements except the final defense from a regionally accredited institution at the start of employment.
- Teaching experience in one or more of the indicated fields (composition, literature, or creative writing).
- Demonstrated commitment to and excellence in undergraduate instruction.

The English Department at TCU is committed to intellectual and creative pursuits through the exploration of literature, rhetoric, and writing. The department includes rhetoric and composition faculty, as well as both tenure-stream and non-tenure-stream faculty who collaborate on course scheduling, curriculum development, and committee work.
