Duties And Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in the teacher preparation program using online methodologies
- Developing engaging, interactive online learning experiences that maintain rigor and promote active learning
- Utilizing diverse educational technologies to create inclusive, accessible learning environments
- Modeling best practices in online pedagogy for teacher candidates
- Providing timely, meaningful feedback on student work through digital platforms
- Leading the redesign of hybrid teacher preparation curriculum to fully online delivery
- Creating digital resources, modules, and assessment tools aligned with online learning best practices
- Ensuring curriculum meets CTC requirements while optimizing for online delivery
- Implementing Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and accessibility standards
- Collaborating with School of Education faculty on program development and continuous improvement
- Partnering with instructional designers and educational technology specialists
- Contributing to departmental meetings, program assessment, and accreditation activities
- Managing courses within the university's Learning Management System (LMS) with advanced proficiency
- Maintaining accurate records and submitting grades in a timely manner
- Advising teacher candidates on academic progress and program requirements
- Participating in student recruitment and retention efforts

Required Qualifications
- A Doctorate degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, or a related field (ABD considered)
- Demonstrated expertise in online pedagogy and instructional design for higher education
- Prominent experience teaching in teacher preparation programs (online, hybrid, or face-to-face)
- Advanced proficiency with Learning Management Systems (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, etc.) and educational technologies
- Experience designing and delivering fully online courses with evidence of student success
- Experience with a diverse range of learners and a strong grasp of current academic content standards and effective teaching strategies
- Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and accessibility standards
- Commitment to equity-minded teaching practices
Strongly Desired Qualifications
- A California teaching credential
- K-12 classroom teaching experience (minimum 3 years strongly preferred)
- Expertise in synchronous and asynchronous online teaching methodologies
- Familiarity with video-based teaching and feedback tools (e.g., GoReact, Swivl, Edthena)
- A commitment to promoting the engagement of minoritized learners in digital spaces
- Published scholarship or presentations on online learning in teacher education
- Experience with Quality Matters or similar online course quality frameworks
- Experience with CTC accreditation processes and requirements
