About the role

The Applied Behavior Analysis program, housed within the SHSU College of Education, offers undergraduate coursework and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Applied Behavior Analysis. To accommodate student needs, the department offers courses on the main campus, at The Woodlands Center, and online. Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach 12 credit hours each semester (Fall/Spring) in the special education program. Courses will be taught in face-to-face, blended, and online delivery formats. The candidate will work to build positive relationships with students, staff, faculty, and other key stakeholders. Will participate fully in departmental, college and university meetings and committees.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or closely related field.
  • Clinical experience providing behavior analytic services in educational, clinical, or community settings.
  • Experience teaching applied behavior analysis courses at the university level.
  • Credentials as a masters-level or doctoral-level Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience preparing students for professional practice and credentialing as Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavior analysis and special education, with excellent teaching and communication skills.
