Vision Therapy Services

Vision therapists provide personalized treatment plans in a professional clinical setting. They work with children and adults to improve visual function and address issues related to developmental learning delays and traumatic brain injuries.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize sessions based on exam findings and patient goals
• Conduct therapy sessions that lead to positive outcomes
• Assign homework exercises to complement therapy sessions
• Conduct and score perceptual testing to assess patient eligibility for Vision Therapy
• Document exam findings, session outcomes, and homework expectations in compliance with insurance regulations
• Inform patients and parents about their exam results, therapy sessions, and homework assignments
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy and testing areas, including copying and supplying home materials
• Aid doctors in preparing letters for parents, schools, and other professionals
• Engage in educational workshops to inform patients, parents, and professionals about the impact of vision problems on learning
• Maintain certification through ongoing education
• Communicate regularly with doctors and other professionals regarding patient progress
• Support scheduling and rescheduling of therapy appointments
• Continuously enhance creativity and expertise to deliver high-quality care

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Optical industry experience preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Effective development skills
