Job Description
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Florida seeks to fill one Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning August 16, 2026. This is a nine-month, non-tenure-accruing position, time limited to no more than two academic years. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to applicants whose research interests align with those of current faculty. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
For full consideration, applications must be received by March 22, 2026. The teaching assignment is 2-2 with the possibility of 2-1 subject to course demands and available resources. Active participation in the department’s research activities is expected.
- A Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related field is required.

- The University is located in Gainesville, a city of approximately 150,000 residents in North-Central Florida, 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, and 67 miles from the Atlantic Ocean, and within a 2-hour drive to large metropolitan areas (Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville).

Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a closely related field is required.
Preferred
- Ph.D. degree in Mathematics by the start date.
