Virtual Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO) – Remote

About the Role

Complete video visits on HealthTap treating patients with acute primary care concerns ("Urgent Care") and evaluating patients for Chronic Care Management eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate virtual care via video visits using your secure computer in a HIPAA‑compliant workspace.
• Evaluate and treat common acute conditions presenting for on‑demand care (e.g., upper respiratory illnesses, UTIs, sore throats, ear/eye infections, and prescription refills).
• Complete comprehensive evaluations to determine Chronic Care Management eligibility.
• Offer clear health education, guidance, and treatment recommendations.
• Electronically prescribe non‑controlled medications (no DEA or state‑scheduled drugs).
• Order and review laboratory tests and provide timely follow‑up guidance.
• Complete medical, work, and school excuse notes when clinically appropriate.
• Refer patients to local in‑person care when required.
• Complete timely, high‑quality medical documentation (SOAP notes) after each encounter.

Required Qualifications

• Education & Credentials: MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
• Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in the U.S. delivering hands‑on primary or urgent care.
• Clinical Excellence: Skilled at rapid assessment while delivering an un‑rushed, high‑satisfaction patient experience (HealthTap doctors consistently maintain >4.9/5‑star ratings).
• Communication & Tech: Excellent interpersonal skills, clear patient communication, strong documentation habits, and comfort navigating digital health tools.
• Professionalism: Punctual, collaborative, and mission‑driven.

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi‑state licensed or possessing an active Letter of Qualification from a state in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact.

Pay

Earn per visit completed (busy doctors earn $120–$150 per hour).
