Virtual Teacher, Health/PE (WA, MI, WV)

About the role

As a Virtual Health/Physical Education Teacher at Edmentum, you will deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day. Your role involves creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that inspires student participation and achievement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day.
• Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt your approach to meet each student where they are.
• Provide timely, meaningful feedback on student work and maintain accurate records that keep students and families informed and on track.
• Build genuine relationships with students and families through professional, proactive communication that fosters trust and shared accountability for learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support across their learning experience.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field and an active state teaching license in Washington (state), Michigan, and/or West Virginia in Health & Physical Education grades 6-12.
• Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings.
• Comfortable with the unique demands of a live online classroom.
• Confident and engaging on camera, able to teach live for five (5) or more consecutive hours per day, every instructional day, and build real connection with students through a screen.
• Hands-on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
• Data-informed: know how to read student performance data and use it to adjust your live instruction in meaningful ways.
• Excellent communicator, in writing and verbally, and know how to meet students, families, and colleagues where they are.
• Highly organized and self-directed, with the time management skills to independently manage a full student caseload in a remote environment.
• Committed to your own professional growth, maintaining certification and staying current on K-12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $45,000—$50,000 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill sets.
