About the role

Amplify Tutoring is seeking remote, part-time Virtual Math Tutors to provide small-group 3rd-5th grade math tutoring for students during the 2026-2027 School Year.

Requirements

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Comfortable and highly skilled with technology.
• Comfortable providing instruction in 3rd-5th grade math topics (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions).
• Available a minimum of 90 minutes a day, 3 days a week (M-F) at consistent times during the school day between 8am-4pm ET (e.g., Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 10:00-11:30).
• Have access to a personal laptop or computer with a webcam and microphone (Chromebooks, iPads/tablets, and smartphones cannot be used for this role).
• Enjoys working with elementary age students.
• Willing to accept and implement ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Interested in participating in professional development and learning opportunities to help students meet their math goals.
• Physically residing within the 50 states of the United States and meet U.S. employment eligibility requirements.
• Private, quiet location free from distractions to work from.

Responsibilities

• Provide small-group virtual math tutoring for 3rd-5th grade students.
• Deliver tutoring sessions using Amplify’s structured, research-based curriculum.
• Manage a high-energy virtual small group classroom across multiple platforms, monitoring real-time student data and maintaining engagement.
• Use virtual math manipulatives and on-screen annotation tools to model concepts.
• Plan and prepare for tutoring sessions (compensated time).
• Log in 15 minutes early prior to session start.
• Commit to assigned tutoring group for the entire 15-week duration.
• Participate in ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development.

Pay

The compensation for this role is $18 per hour for delivery of tutoring sessions and $15 per hour for lesson preparation and professional development.

Schedule

• Tutors can request to work between 9 to 39 hours per week, with most tutors working between 9 and 15 hours per week during the school year.
• Tutoring sessions are conducted exclusively on weekdays, with no weekend classes.
• Sessions are held according to individual school schedules and may be affected by school closures or cancellations (e.g., holidays, state and local testing, weather).
• Tutors must be available for a 15-minute early login prior to their session start.

• Curriculum is provided by Amplify.
• Tutors must supply their own laptop/computer with webcam, microphone, and headphones (Chromebooks, iPads/tablets, and smartphones cannot be used).
• Reliable high-speed internet connection is required.
• Use of dual monitors is strongly preferred.

Background Checks

If selected, fingerprinting and background checks will be required. Tutors cannot work with students prior to clearance. Initial fingerprinting costs average $50-$150 and are reimbursed after submission of receipts.
