General Purpose
Under the supervision of a Building Administrator, the Virtual/Distance Learning Paraprofessional assists in achieving instructional objectives by working with individual students or small groups to promote their achievement and overall success.
Main Job Tasks And Responsibilities
- Support Student Learning
- Administer and unlock assessments.
- Work with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills.
- Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work in collaboration with the teacher.
- Afford assistance during emergency drills, assemblies, and instructional activities.
- Afford assistance with other school-wide needs.
- Operate and care for a variety of equipment used in conjunction with the instructional program.
- Afford assistance with the collection and distribution of instructional materials.
- Afford assistance with maintaining an appropriate classroom environment.
- Maintain record keeping and documentation of students' performance.
Support and demonstrate core values of Stafford County Public Schools

- Respond promptly and thoroughly to written and oral requests for information.

Education And Experience
- High school diploma, or G.E.D., or any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.

- Basic reading and computation skills, and appropriate oral and written expression;
- Thorough knowledge of English grammar and usage.

Working Conditions And Physical Requirements
- Work environment is in a mixed environment, with moderate noise, temperatures that are controlled, and no exposure to chemicals or other negative air quality elements.
- The work is light/moderate work, requiring exertion of up to 30 pounds of force to move or lift objects.
