Position Objective

The Physician is an administrative and operational role that provides exceptional medical care to patients through physical exams, diagnostic tests, and treatment plans. This role is safety-sensitive due to direct patient care and medication administration responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Practice medicine using sound medical judgment and adhere to ethical considerations; keep abreast of technologies and industry standards.
  • Meet clinical obligations including accreditation, CLIA, drug prescription, HIPAA, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Independently provide care for older adult patients, seeking consultation when necessary.
  • Engage with hospitalists during hospital stays and provide care coordination and documentation.
  • Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate courses of action, including blood gas, radiology, EKG, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and team members.
  • Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as needed.
  • Ensure patients are seen by a Physician at least every other visit.
  • Provide 5-Star service aligned with Better Health Group's mission.
  • Handle emergencies calmly and effectively, prioritizing tasks and focusing on quality execution.
  • Operate independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple teams and handle confidential information with integrity.

Requirements/ Skills

  • Medical Degree from an accredited medical school
  • Active medical license in the state of practice
  • At least 3 years of experience in outpatient primary care
  • AACLS/BLS certification
  • Excellent diagnostic skills and ability to interpret medical tests and results
  • Prior experience working in an electronic medical records system
  • Ability to diagnose and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, atherosclerotic disease, COPD, CHF, obesity, etc. in the senior population
  • Reading and analyzing general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Working knowledge with Google Suite and Microsoft Office for real-time collaboration
  • Organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and move patients and medical equipment up to 15 lbs
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
  • Operating a motor vehicle and having own means of transportation
