Vineyard Mechanic - Arbuckle

Reg F-T Non-Exempt, On-Site position in Arbuckle, California.

About the Role

Assist with the repair and maintenance of all equipment used in the Trinchero vineyards operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance and repair of all equipment assigned to the vineyard area shops.
• Plan jobs, projects, and schedule equipment for repair.
• Repair tractors, vineyard implements, grape harvesters, ATVs, RTVs, pickups, large trucks, and trailers.
• Supervise the installation and implementation of new equipment.
• Perform welding and maintain electrical and hydraulic equipment; fabrication experience is useful.
• Assist the Director of Vineyard Maintenance and VP Vineyard Operations in budget preparation.
• Act as a company representative with machinery and parts suppliers.
• Attend and contribute to vineyard manager meetings.
• Coordinate the use of the vineyard truck to ensure efficient distribution and pickup of vineyard equipment.
• Foster a cooperative working atmosphere within the vineyard area shops and encourage collaboration with Trinchero mechanics and managers outside the immediate vineyard area.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2 or more years’ experience; agricultural mechanic experience preferred.
• Proven mechanical ability for the repair and maintenance of vineyard farming implements, including fabrication, welding, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
• Experience operating vineyard equipment and familiarity with tools found in farming repair and maintenance shops (lathe, drill press, band saw, grinder, etc.).
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, fabrication, and personnel issues.
• Good communication skills with detailed follow-up.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Leadership abilities to train, motivate, and counsel in a team environment.
• Effective communication in English (Spanish preferred); basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Moderate to heavy physical work, including extensive walking and lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Work site may be any Trinchero Family Estates facility, primarily at the Trinchero Arbuckle Ranch Shop, with occasional work at other vineyard locations.
• Standing for long periods (8 hours per day).
• Compliance with all safety equipment requirements, including ear plugs and safety glasses.
• Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, forklifts, and related production equipment.
• Exposure to outside elements (heat, wet and/or damp conditions, cold).
• Long and irregular hours during peak periods, including weekends associated with farming.

Pay

Salary range: $25.70 - $31.40 per hour. Starting pay is based on experience, training, education, and geographic location.
