About the Role

This position focuses on generating content for broadcasts, the web, and social media. The Photographer will primarily shoot and edit video, gather news (either with a reporter or solo), and work across various media channels in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate strong photography and non-linear editing skills
• Meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
• Work flexible hours, including any time of day as required
• Provide own transportation to assignments
• Maintain availability for contact by phone
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Work independently or collaboratively in a team setting
• Show initiative and creativity in photography
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and News Director

Requirements

• Solid news judgment and ability to work under constant deadline pressure
• Degree in television production or photography (desired but not required)
• Previous newsroom experience as an employee or intern (desired)
• Proficiency in operating photography and editing equipment
• Valid driver’s license
• Regular and timely attendance with flexibility for changing operational needs

Technical Requirements

• Knowledge of computers, cameras, and editing equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
