About the role

The Video Engineer-Flypack plays a crucial role in the live production industry, supporting the Warehouse Video Manager in ensuring high-quality work from warehouse technicians. They also integrate, program, and configure equipment, manage software updates, and solve technical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute project-specific Flypack requests
  • Develop and maintain a detailed equipment database for video projects
  • Propose solutions to address potential issues and recommend improvements
  • Coordinate with the Warehouse Video Manager to ensure high-quality work
  • Manage and maintain equipment software updates
  • Identify and solve technical problems
  • Manage equipment returns process and quality control tests
  • Ensure Solotech's standards are respected by shop technicians and production teams
  • Advise, guide, and share expertise with the warehouse team and production teams
  • Provide active leadership, guidance, and mentorship to assist with employee development
  • Assist sales representatives in developing project solutions
  • Advise management on equipment needs and acquisitions
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and their technical assistance team
  • Create and maintain system diagrams, documentation, and software configurations
  • Support and participate in product development with the engineering team
  • Assist engineering design team with new implementations
  • Participate in all other projects identified by management
  • Perform technical drawings (block diagrams, single line, schematic, mechanical, etc.)
  • Assist with technical drawings and support the engineering design team
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience within the video live production industry
  • Strong working knowledge of live production
  • General technical knowledge in audio, lighting, rigging, video, and networking
  • General knowledge of Office365 (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Experience with Vector Works drafting software
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Teamwork-oriented
  • Able to travel overnight to events
  • Strong knowledge in live production video systems
  • Very good communication skills both oral and written
  • Able to work with MS Office, Visio/CAD/Drawing Software
  • Able to identify and solve complex technical problems
  • Troubleshooting ability for common audio and video circuits
  • Working knowledge of broadcast video switchers, cameras, and terminal gear
  • Ease of adaptation to new technologies

Schedule
