Video Editor - YouTube

About the role

Our membership platform, Hammer Elite, serves tens of thousands of paying members across multiple tiers and runs a daily content engine of exclusive shows, bonus content, and community programming. Hammer Media is hiring a Video Editor to help with post‑production across our membership content.

Responsibilities

• Edit long‑form YouTube content across multiple shows, shaping pacing, structure, and storytelling to maximize viewer retention.
• Integrate b‑roll, music, graphics, and motion elements to elevate the final product.
• Deliver polished final cuts that meet Hammer Media’s quality standards.
• Build and maintain organized workflows, templates, and editing guidelines for speed and repeatability.
• Ensure proper file management, version control, and asset organization.
• Create thumbnails and titles with a testing mindset, continuously optimizing for the highest engagement.
• Analyze video performance metrics like CTR, retention, and watch time, using insights to refine editing style and improve future videos.

Requirements

• 2+ years of video editing experience, ideally with YouTube‑first content.
• Strong long‑form YouTube editing instincts: storytelling, pacing, structure, and retention.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop.
• Expertise in color grading, audio cleanup, and export/deliverables for YouTube.
• Experience managing or mentoring other editors.
• Highly organized and comfortable working in a fast‑moving production environment.
