About The Role

The Video Editor, Paid Social at Greenlight is responsible for translating strategic briefs, raw footage, and creator content into engaging, platform-native videos optimized for paid social channels such as Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. This role involves close collaboration with creative strategists, brand teams, and other editors to produce multiple video variants, ensure platform specifications are met, and continuously improve content performance based on analytics and trends.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience editing video content for paid social, social media, or digital marketing
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating short-form editing skills, including pacing, hooks, captions, and platform-native formatting
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro and/or CapCut; knowledge of After Effects is a plus
  • Solid understanding of specifications, trends, and best practices across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Ability to work with raw, imperfect creator footage and enhance it effectively
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail in managing files, versions, and exports
  • Self-starter with a coachable attitude, eager to learn and improve
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines and providing quick revisions
  • Knowledge of paid social performance metrics such as CTR, hook rate, and thumb-stop rate (preferred)
  • Experience with UGC/creator content for paid campaigns (preferred)
  • Basic motion graphics or animation skills (preferred)
  • Familiarity with fintech, family finance, or consumer subscription products (optional)

Responsibilities

  • Edit short-form videos for paid social platforms based on creative briefs, raw footage, and creator submissions
  • Create compelling hooks and pacing strategies to maximize engagement within the first 1-3 seconds
  • Produce multiple variations of videos, including different lengths, aspect ratios, and formats for testing
  • Collaborate with creative strategists to understand the strategic intent behind each project and translate it into visual storytelling
  • Incorporate feedback effectively, ensuring revisions align with strategic goals while maintaining high-quality craft
  • Identify opportunities to optimize content based on past campaign performance and current trends
  • Ensure all videos meet platform specifications, including specs, safe zones, captions, and subtitles
  • Stay updated on platform trends, formats, and editing styles to keep content fresh and effective
  • Review raw creator footage, flag gaps or issues, and work with teams to problem-solve around limitations
  • Manage project files, versions, and exports systematically for efficient workflow and handoffs
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, iterative environment to meet deadlines
