About the role

The Video Agents Engineering Lead at Google Labs is responsible for managing the architecture and cross-company integration of a new AI-native product. This role involves leading a team through the full life-cycle of product development, from idea exploration to prototyping and collaboration. The team focuses on incubating early-stage efforts to advance Google's mission of organizing information and creating innovative solutions. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership skills to drive projects and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate team priorities that support the organization's goals.
• Develop the long-term technical goal and roadmap within and beyond the scope of your teams.
• Oversee systems designs within the scope of the area and review product or system development code.
• Drive technical project strategy and lead ML infrastructure optimization.
• Mentor staff leads and support a core team in delivering robust software solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages such as Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing or launching software products.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role across a large organization.

Pay

$262,000 - $364,000 per year
