Position Overview

The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Vice Principal - Elementary. This position is pending availability of funds and Superintendent's approval.

What NBOE Vice Principals Do

  • Assist the Principal
  • Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement the school's strategic goals, policies, and procedures
  • Support the Principal in managing the overall operations and administration of the school
  • Shift time allocations flexibly when priorities and circumstances change
  • Instructional Leadership
  • Collaborate with teachers and academic staff to promote excellence in teaching and learning
  • Monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and support staff in implementing appropriate interventions
  • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture and a safe and respectful learning environment
  • Staff Supervision and Development
  • Support the recruitment, selection, and evaluation processes for staff
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers, assisting them in their professional growth
  • Cook up professional development activities to enhance staff skills and knowledge
  • Encourage and enable collaboration and teamwork among faculty and staff
  • Student, Family, and Community Engagement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop student support programs and initiatives
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community
  • Address student and parent concerns, facilitating effective communication and conflict resolution
  • Oversee student conduct and discipline, including adherence to district policies and procedures
  • Monitor student attendance and conduct appropriate interventions as needed
  • Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and community outreach programs
  • Represent the school at relevant meetings, conferences, and external events

Basic Qualifications And Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • New Jersey Principal Standard Certificate or a Certificate of Eligibility for Principal
  • Demonstrated successful experience increasing student achievement as a teacher, utilizing a variety of approaches that emphasize inclusion and culturally responsive practice
  • Demonstrated successful experience supporting or leading school-wide initiatives

SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD, AND UNION AFFILIATION

Salary Range: $106,700 - $140,000 (Pending salary negotiations)
Employment Period: Eleven (11) Months
Union Affiliation: City Association of Supervisors and Administrators (CASA)
