Position Overview
The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Vice Principal - Elementary. This position is pending availability of funds and Superintendent's approval.
What NBOE Vice Principals Do
- Assist the Principal
- Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement the school's strategic goals, policies, and procedures
- Support the Principal in managing the overall operations and administration of the school
- Shift time allocations flexibly when priorities and circumstances change
- Instructional Leadership
- Collaborate with teachers and academic staff to promote excellence in teaching and learning
- Monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and support staff in implementing appropriate interventions
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture and a safe and respectful learning environment
- Staff Supervision and Development
- Support the recruitment, selection, and evaluation processes for staff
- Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers, assisting them in their professional growth
- Cook up professional development activities to enhance staff skills and knowledge
- Encourage and enable collaboration and teamwork among faculty and staff
- Student, Family, and Community Engagement
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop student support programs and initiatives
- Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community
- Address student and parent concerns, facilitating effective communication and conflict resolution
- Oversee student conduct and discipline, including adherence to district policies and procedures
- Monitor student attendance and conduct appropriate interventions as needed
- Organize and participate in parent-teacher conferences, school events, and community outreach programs
- Represent the school at relevant meetings, conferences, and external events

Basic Qualifications And Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- New Jersey Principal Standard Certificate or a Certificate of Eligibility for Principal
- Demonstrated successful experience increasing student achievement as a teacher, utilizing a variety of approaches that emphasize inclusion and culturally responsive practice
- Demonstrated successful experience supporting or leading school-wide initiatives
SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD, AND UNION AFFILIATION
Salary Range: $106,700 - $140,000 (Pending salary negotiations)
Employment Period: Eleven (11) Months
Union Affiliation: City Association of Supervisors and Administrators (CASA)
