About the role

Technology Investment Banking is a core business line of GLBA, responsible for the origination and execution of all tech-related investment banking transactions by Societe Generale Americas. The emphasis will be on the broader software sector within Technology Investment Banking, including equity origination (IPOs, Follow-Ons), M&A, and Leveraged Finance debt origination. The group is fully integrated into the broader bank and will work closely with product groups and on a cross-border basis with teams in Europe and Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with ECM, DCM, and M&A to organize content and focus on the Software sector, including peers comps, trading activity, and transaction comps.
  • Keep abreast of market developments, capital markets activity, M&A announcements, and investor sentiment around software.
  • Serve as the point person on the coverage team responsible for organizing and creating client presentations, marketing materials, and relevant pitches for new business.
  • Actively prospect and develop new client relationships while contributing to content generation.
  • Conduct and model a broad range of corporate financing alternatives and due diligence for client transactions.
  • Perform financial modeling and valuation analyses, as well as software-specific analysis such as relevant KPI analysis.
  • Develop and participate in client pitches to advise on investment banking transactions.
  • Play a key role in transaction execution.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues in Europe and Asia, and among U.S. banking teams.

Requirements

  • At least 5-6+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Preferred active deal experience within ECM and M&A sectors.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a competitive program, with a preference for degrees in business, finance, and/or accounting.

Skills

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in financial analysis such as DCF, DEV, LBO, comparable companies, etc.
  • Expertise in all necessary software programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience working with MDS platforms, e.g., Bloomberg data, CapIQ, FactSet.

Competencies

  • Strong oral and written presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team structure as well as independently with initiative.
  • Capacity to understand complex financial structures, strategy, and competitive positioning.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, pressure-oriented environment and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of software metrics, companies, and investors.
  • Expectation to develop expertise within sub-sectors.

Pay

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus, or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
