Vice President- Safety and Industrial Hygiene

About the role

The Senior Consultant will partner with clients to evaluate safety programs, identify risk exposures, and develop practical strategies to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. This role combines safety and industrial hygiene expertise to deliver actionable recommendations aligned with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments tailored to client operations, including airborne contaminants, noise, ergonomics, and biological agents.

• Develop and propose practical engineering, administrative, and PPE controls that reduce exposures and align with regulatory requirements.

• Conduct comprehensive safety and hazard assessments across diverse client sites, identifying compliance gaps and prioritizing corrective actions.

• Analyze incident data and recommend targeted interventions that reduce risk and total cost of risk, working with clients to implement recommendations.

• Develop and deliver engaging safety and industrial hygiene training programs for client managers, supervisors, and frontline employees.

• Provide regulatory and technical support to facilitate compliance, monitoring regulatory changes and advising clients on implementation strategies.

• Manage consulting projects and client relationships to drive value, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables, and building strong client relationships.

• Collaborate with clients to develop and implement written safety programs, including job hazard analyses and other foundational activities, influencing clients to prioritize corrective actions within agreed timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

• Professional safety certification such as Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferred.

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience developing and implementing safety management systems at facility or corporate levels; supervisory experience is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and management systems, with the ability to apply regulatory requirements across various operational settings.

• Experience conducting site assessments, industrial hygiene studies, and safety program evaluations.

• Proficiency in data analysis and risk assessment methodologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.

• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and communicate across all organizational levels.

• Ability to travel to client sites as required (up to 60%).
