About the Role

Houlihan Lokey is a leading global investment bank with a renowned Financial and Valuation Advisory (FVA) practice. This position is for a Vice President based in the New York or Dallas office, dedicated to executing client engagements and growing the Portfolio Valuation and Fund Advisory (PV) practice. The role involves managing client deliverables, leading valuation processes, and contributing to business development while collaborating with a global team of valuation professionals.

The Vice President will be a fully integrated member of engagement teams, working across 30+ valuation professionals in three continents. While the primary focus will be on Portfolio Valuation, the role also includes cross-selling other FVA, Corporate Finance, and Restructuring services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business and financial due diligence sessions with clients.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in valuing structured and asset-backed investments.
  • Oversee the valuation review process and direct the efforts of Associates and Financial Analysts.
  • Present valuation analyses and conclusions internally and externally.
  • Manage client deliverables and ensure quality control across the financial advisory services platform.
  • Lead the building and reviewing of complex financial models (e.g., to value specific securities or transaction structures).
  • Develop creative content, thought leadership, and collaboration across service lines.
  • Prepare fee proposals, including scoping discussions, pitch materials, and internal engagement pricing committee memoranda.
  • Pitch engagements and lead business development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of six years of experience in financial services for Vice Presidents.
  • Prior structured product valuation or related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling, and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Analysts/Associates or other personnel.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a desire to support a growing practice and contribute across the full suite of offerings.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and common database systems.
  • Highly motivated with an exceptional work ethic and ability to work cooperatively with team members and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big Four valuation and/or independent valuation consultant experience.
  • Master’s degree or progress toward an advanced degree.
  • CFA designation.

Pay

The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is $180,000 - $200,000. Actual salary at the time of hire may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, service line, and location. The position may also include discretionary incentive compensation.
