The Vice President of Sales role at RheoSense is ideal for a seasoned, visionary leader who excels at the intersection of technical innovation and commercial strategy.
Job Responsibilities and Expectations
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company goals, market opportunities, and product roadmap.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team, including inside sales, field sales, and channel partners.
- Establish clear sales targets, forecasting processes, and performance metrics.
- Identify new market segments, applications, and customer opportunities to expand RheoSense's footprint.
- Drive year-over-year revenue growth through direct sales, channel development, and strategic partnerships.
- Strengthen relationships with key accounts, distributors, and OEM partners.
- Oversee pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and deal structuring.
- Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging, campaigns, and lead-generation programs.
- Work closely with Product Management and Applications Science to align customer needs with product development.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure smooth delivery, installation, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to guide strategic decisions.
- Implement scalable sales processes, CRM best practices, and pipeline management discipline.
- Develop accurate revenue forecasts and quarterly business reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success selling scientific instruments, analytical equipment, or laboratory technologies.
- Strong understanding of technical sales cycles, customer evaluation processes, and scientific end-users.
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale sales teams in a growth-stage environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive-level presentation skills.
- Experience managing global sales channels and distributors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in rheology, fluid dynamics, materials science, or related scientific fields.
- Experience in small-company or startup environments where agility and hands-on leadership are essential.
- Track record of expanding into new markets or launching new product lines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting or standing for meetings, presentations, and computer-based work in office or remote settings.
- Frequent domestic and occasional international travel, including walking through airports, trade show venues, and client facilities.
- Ability to lift and transport light equipment (up to 50 lbs.) for setting up product demos or trade show displays involving viscometer systems.
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity. Required for reviewing technical documents, operating CRM platforms, and handling demo instruments.
- Clear verbal and auditory communication. Essential for leading meetings, giving presentations, and engaging with clients in varied environments.
- Comfort working near light technical equipment or in lab settings. May involve brief exposure to low-level manufacturing noise or cleanroom.
