Vice President of Information Security
About the role
Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing organization based in Manchester, New Hampshire, for a Vice President of Information Security to lead its enterprise cybersecurity strategy. This is a high-visibility executive role for a security leader who can build and mature a security program from the ground up while partnering closely with the C-suite, IT leadership, and the board on risk, compliance, and resilience. Day to day, this role blends strategic planning with hands-on leadership of a growing security team, balancing incident response, risk governance, audits, and vendor management against long-term architecture and policy work. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, on-site environment, is comfortable being the executive voice on security matters, and has a track record of building trust with both technical teams and non-technical executives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the enterprise information security strategy and roadmap
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of security analysts and engineers
- Oversee security operations including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management
- Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and governance frameworks
- Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, and third-party security vendors
- Present security posture, risks, and initiatives to executive leadership and the board
- Drive compliance efforts across relevant regulatory and industry frameworks
- Oversee security architecture reviews for new systems, applications, and infrastructure
- Manage the information security budget and resource planning
- Lead security awareness training programs across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field required, Master's preferred
- 15 plus years of progressive experience in information security or IT risk management
- 5 plus years in a senior leadership or executive security role
- Deep knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
- Experience leading incident response and business continuity planning
- Strong understanding of cloud security, network security, and identity management
- CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification strongly preferred
- Proven ability to communicate security risk to executive and board audiences
- Experience managing security budgets, vendors, and cross-functional teams

Pay
The salary range for this role is $175,000 - $225,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation and benefits details will be shared during the hiring process.
