Responsibilities
Drafting & Documentation:
- Oversee and prioritize company initiatives, including drawing releases and revisions.
- Support Sales & Marketing by providing technical materials for catalogs and website content.
- Assist Supply Chain by supplying part drawings, part numbers, and technical specifications.
Building Codes & Compliance (IBC / OSHPD):
- Provide technical expertise to customers during the sales process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with testing labs to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Manage financial oversight of projects, ensuring scope, timelines, and billing align with profitability goals.
- Offer guidance and strategic direction across multiple project phases.
- Cook up scope changes with Sales to maintain strong customer relationships.
- Establish and maintain testing priorities.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to drive continuous improvement and profitability.
Project & Resource Management:
- Oversee scheduling and daily workflow to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate across New York, Texas, and India locations to optimize resource utilization.
- Maintain standardization of processes, procedures, and parameters to enhance productivity and profitability.
Engineering Support & Resource Allocation:
- Manage and prioritize engineering resources to support:
- Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Internal Manufacturing, Sales, and Executive Teams
- Field Technical Support for External Customers
Elastomer & Material Applications:
- Support Supply Chain in managing batches, compounds, and formulations.
- Assist Manufacturing with materials and part specifications.
- Oversee customer requests and special requirements.
Laboratory Management:
- Provide testing and evaluation services to support Supply Chain & Manufacturing.
Department Leadership & Development:
- Lead strategic hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Mentor, train, and develop staff to enhance overall employee growth and company value.
- Analyze and optimize resource allocation (materials, manpower, and profitability).
- Evaluate and refine existing processes to improve efficiency and financial performance.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Visio is a plus)
- Project management software
- Strong AutoCAD and drafting skills
- Financial Acumen:
- Budgeting, cost projections, P&L, forecasting, margins, and profitability analysis
- Engineering & Industry Expertise:
- Interpretation of building plans, construction drawings, and assembly schematics
- Understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, electrical equipment, piping, ductwork, and controls
- Knowledge of building codes and design specifications (e.g., IBC, ASCE/SEI 7)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 15+ years of engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- 5+ years of senior management experience, overseeing multiple engineering functions.
