Responsibilities
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, client briefings, and stakeholder meetings as a thought leader in data center mechanical design.
- Lead the delivery of large-scale data center mechanical engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Oversee the design and performance of complex mechanical systems, including HVAC, air handling, chilled water systems, cooling towers, boilers, and building automation and controls.
- Ensure projects are delivered with the highest standards of quality, energy efficiency, reliability, sustainability, and compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams while supporting resource planning, technical excellence, and project delivery.
- Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver fully integrated designs using BIM and advanced modeling tools.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout project delivery.
- Support business development efforts through client presentations, proposal development, interviews, and strategic pursuit activities.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, QA/QC processes, design methodologies, and best practices across the mechanical engineering team.
- Support strategic planning and operational initiatives that contribute to the continued growth of the Mission Critical practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE); multi-state licensure is a plus.
- LEED BD+C accreditation preferred.
- 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience with extensive experience in mission critical or data center projects.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and delivering large, complex mechanical engineering projects.
- Strong expertise in HVAC, chilled water systems, central utility plants, building automation, and CFD/energy modeling tools.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, and other industry-standard software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and client relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated experience supporting business development, proposals, and client pursuits within the mission critical sector.
- Willingness to travel regularly to client and project sites.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
