Vice President Legal Services DSC NORAM
Key Responsibilities
- Define and implement the Legal Management strategy, frameworks, and standards for the sub-regional cluster in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making to align legal priorities with short- and long-term business goals
- Evaluate business activities, policies, and transactions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Oversee legal proceedings and represent the organization in matters before courts, government authorities, and regulatory bodies
- Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management on current and future legal risks and implications for the business
- Lead and develop legal teams across the cluster, ensuring high standards of accuracy, ethics, and performance
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and ensure effective representation of the organization’s interests
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and government representatives
- Negotiate complex contracts and agreements with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to provide integrated legal solutions and support business strategy execution
Requirements
Law degree (mandatory); postgraduate qualification or bachelor’s degree in business law is an advantage
More than 10 years of post-qualification legal experience
Strong expertise in corporate law, contract law, regulatory compliance, and legal risk management
Proven experience in leading and managing legal teams across multiple locations
Experience in handling court proceedings, legal negotiations, and engagement with regulatory authorities
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including interaction with senior leadership and external partners
Solid understanding of business strategy, governance, and legal frameworks affecting multinational organizations
Experience managing external legal counsel and legal budgets
Experience in intellectual property, employment law, or capital markets law
Exposure to digital transformation initiatives within legal functions
