About the role

Interact with traders and quantitative researchers to analyze new ideas and requirements for development. Maintain and improve trading applications through new features, algorithms, enhancements, optimization for speed, and bug corrections. Implement algorithms in line with Compliance and Regulations (e.g. RegNMS, RegSHO, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the trading platform is stable and works properly (scripts, batches, applications and infrastructure)
  • Adapt, improve, stabilize, and automate the platform; help reduce the human factor and the number of manual interventions
  • Assist users (traders and researchers)
  • Perform root cause analysis, process-mapping, and analysis report generation of P&L for strategies
  • Provide mentorship to new joiners and existing staff, and create and support development plan for the team
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes (e.g latency reduction, exec P&L improvement) and influence peers and teams to drive outcome with positive and meaningful impact
  • Interact with Market Access teams to ensure proper quote reception and order sending capabilities
  • Interact with IT Infra teams to ensure proper functioning of all devices: servers, firewalls, switches, database, filer, market- and inter-colo connectivity
  • Interact with Operations to ensure proper accounting of the desk's positions: feed booking and other Back-Office systems
  • Interact with compliance teams to understand the impact of regulations on trading platform

Qualifications

Master's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Financial Engineering, or related and five (5) years of experience with Finance or Software Development.

Required skills

Five (5) years of experience with:

  • Programming using C++98, C++11, C++14, and C++17 standard
  • Programming using BOOST C++ libraries

Three (3) years of experience with:

  • Programming using Python 2.7 and Python 3.9
  • Performing analytics and improving query processing with Oracle PL/SQL on Oracle database version 12 and 19
  • Programming using Java11 with Spring Boot / WildFly extension
  • Designing and Tuning Low Latency Distributed Systems
  • Expert understanding in Financial Product Performance (Profit & Loss, Sharpe, Slippage) and Custom Index Replication or Option Greeks

Pay

$189,592.00 USD - $210,000.00 USD / year. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.

Schedule

9am to 5pm, 40 hours a week (Monday – Friday). Telecommuting permitted 20%: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the BNP Paribas RCC Inc. office in NY/NJ Area.
