About the role

ING New York is seeking a Vice President (VP) of Integrated Risk in the US who is capable of managing a broad range of enterprise-level responsibilities, including representing the IRM function across various stakeholder engagements as needed. The position requires specialized knowledge of enterprise risk, including Risk Appetite, Risk Identification, and policy management. The role reports to the Head of Integrated Risk and requires a minimum of two days of in-office attendance per week.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and refine Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks, policies, procedures, and governance structures aligned with regulatory guidelines.
  • Execute the local risk identification and risk assessment process, serving as the foundation for the local Risk Appetite Framework.
  • Conduct analysis for risk appetite metrics and provide trends and key concern areas.
  • Help establish Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and risk appetite statements to enhance risk transparency and accountability.
  • Support the periodic updates to senior management across risk types, individually and in the aggregate.
  • Contribute to the management of the Enterprise Risk Management Policy and Program, standards, and procedures.
  • Foster a risk-aware culture by developing risk training programs, tools, and awareness initiatives across the Americas as needed.
  • Design and maintain the overarching local risk governance structure and provide advice to local and global approval bodies for approval of local policies and/or waivers for US requirements.
  • Coordinate the local Recovery & Resolution Planning in alignment with both local and global regulations and approaches, including contributing to ING's Recovery Plan, monitoring and potential activation of local crisis management plans, and supporting local resolution planning activities.
  • Participate in, and prepare for, regulatory examinations and internal audits, assisting in the preparation of responses to exams and audits.

Requirements

  • Prior enterprise risk management experience and subject matter expert in risk appetite.
  • 5+ years of knowledge of risk management and financial products, credit, and market risk experience is helpful.
  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, or Quantitative Finance.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills to break down complex issues into manageable pieces.
  • Able to manage different stakeholders and navigate different cultural environments.
  • The ability to present complex content in an easy and transparent way.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $157,000 - $198,000. The role is eligible for participation in a discretionary bonus program.
