OTHR$200k–$230k/yrFull-time

Water.org is a global nonprofit organization with a mission to remove the barriers between people living in poverty and access to safe water and sanitation solutions they need to survive and thrive. Today, 1 in 4 people lack access to safe water, 2 in 5 lack a safe toilet, and 1 million deaths occur annually from water-related diseases. An international nonprofit based in Kansas City, MO, Water.org is deeply committed to solving the global water crisis. Founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, Water.org has pioneered market-driven, smart financial solutions for over 30 years to break down barriers to universal access. Our portfolio includes WaterCredit (helping families finance home water and sanitation solutions through accessible loans), WaterEquity (bringing in private capital to sustain lending), and WaterConnect (developing infrastructure projects). Every dollar donated unlocks $21 for water and sanitation solutions. We operate in 15 countries across 4 continents, having empowered over 92 million people with safe water or sanitation, mobilized $8.2 billion USD in capital, and facilitated 20.4 million loans. These solutions directly empower those in need: 85% of participating households live on less than $8.30 a day, 90% of borrowers are women, and the average loan size is $407 with a 98% repayment rate.

About the role

Water.org is entering a phase requiring innovative commercial ecosystems and platform growth to unlock mission impact. As audience engagement is increasingly driven by culture, creators, and commercial participation, we seek an entrepreneurial, forward-thinking leader for the VP, Get Blue to own the vision, strategy, and long-term expansion of Get Blue. Partnering closely with our Chief Revenue Officer, you will own the commercial strategy, operating model, and partner growth agenda—building Get Blue into a culturally relevant, revenue-generating movement with strong brand equity and deep partnerships. You will serve as the senior integrator across Water.org and an ecosystem of brands, retailers, creators, entertainment partners, agencies, and consumers, translating a complex global challenge into a compelling platform. This role is ideal for a commercial leader with a track record of building brand-led ecosystems, closing high-profile partnerships, and turning cultural movements into revenue, who shares our belief that safe water is the best investment to improve health, empower women, enable education, increase family income, and change lives.

    • Build Get Blue through compelling storytelling, breakthrough campaigns, and executive oversight of partner products, events, and experiences that enable corporations and consumers to drive systemic impact.
    • Oversee creative, communications, social, media, and agency partners to ensure excellence, consistency, and coordinated execution across all launch priorities and consumer touchpoints.
  • Partnerships & Ecosystem Growth
    • Oversee commercial strategy, partner pipelines, and business development priorities—from prospect identification, negotiation, and contracting through activation, renewal, and expansion—to drive sustainable funding and achieve annual revenue and partnership objectives.
    • Partner closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and Business Development teams to translate Water.org's proven solutions into compelling value propositions and scalable, repeatable partnership models that generate new revenue streams and shared value.
    • Cultivate and steward executive-level relationships across corporate brand partners, media organizations, retailers, creators, and cultural influencers.
    • Establish operating models, systems, and governance for efficient partner onboarding, account management, agreement oversight, and activation performance to ensure relationship health and expansion opportunities.
    • Create structures and shared frameworks that enable brand, retail, entertainment, and media partners to collaborate, share learning, and co-develop new growth initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Operational Excellence
    • Own and manage the Get Blue operating budget—including investment prioritization, forecasting, and resource allocation—while leading risk management and scenario planning to maximize long-term impact.
    • Define success metrics, set priorities, and drive accountability and continuous improvement to consistently meet annual operating plan objectives.
    • Build, recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performing, cross-functional entrepreneurial team spanning partnerships, marketing, employees, contractors, consultants, and external agency partners.
    • Align internal and external stakeholders around shared goals while fostering an organizational culture that balances innovation, speed, collaboration, operational rigor, and mission impact.
