Help Shape the Future of Higher Education in KansasThe Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) is seeking an experienced and collaborative higher education leader to serve as its next Vice President for Academic Affairs. As KBOR's chief academic officer, this position provides executive leadership for academic policy, systemwide initiatives, institutional engagement, and strategic priorities that support student success and strengthen Kansas higher education. The Vice President leads the Academic Affairs division, serves on the agency's executive leadership team, and works closely with college and university leaders, policymakers, and partners across the state. This is an opportunity to advance initiatives that impact students, institutions, workforce development, and economic prosperity across Kansas while helping strengthen the state's higher education system. QualificationsMinimum QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited institution.Five years of effective leadership and management experience in a college or university setting at or above the level of department head, or equivalent experience.Strong understanding of higher education issues in Kansas and nationally.Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.Demonstrated ability to build consensus and lead collaboratively. Preferred QualificationsDoctoral degree from an accredited institution.Experience working within both two-year and four-year institutions.Experience leading systemwide academic initiatives, policy development, or educational systems.
