Vice President/Director Data Centers Leveraged Finance

As a leader on the Data Center team within our Leveraged Finance platform, you will oversee credit underwriting, monitoring, and portfolio management for new and existing Data Center relationships. This role emphasizes financial analysis and modeling, risk evaluation, ongoing portfolio maintenance, regulatory compliance, and customer support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead credit underwriting, risk administration, and portfolio management for complex Digital Infrastructure transactions (BTS, Colocation, Hyperscale) across Financial Sponsors, Infrastructure Funds, individual companies, and lead banks.
  • Drive internal credit processes, including memos, research, financial modeling, executive summaries, and legal documentation negotiations with Relationship Managers and Credit professionals.
  • Structure, underwrite, and document new business, renewals, and modifications.
  • Oversee an assigned portfolio, anticipate issues, and develop solutions while managing competing priorities and deadlines to ensure compliance with credit and risk policies.
  • Provide direct client support, resolving complex credit monitoring and administration issues through regular interaction.
  • Stay informed on industry and market trends related to assigned markets and customers, sharing insights with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers.
  • Track and report key lease metrics, obligations, and critical dates.
  • Manage financial and contractual requirements for Data Center colocation agreements.
  • Drive process creation, implementation, and improvements.
  • Mentor and guide junior associates and analysts.

Requirements

  • 7+ years (VP) or 10+ years (Director) of commercial credit experience, primarily in Commercial Real Estate.
  • Prior experience in the Digital Infrastructure sector and Project Finance strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the competitive environment, industry practices, technical standards, trends, technology, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven competency in financial analysis, credit structuring, and applying credit policy and monitoring practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Portfolio management experience, including proposing credit and covenant structures and documenting loans.
  • Ability to interpret and detect issues with property, guarantor, and sponsor financial performance and assess their impact on credit risk.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage directly with customers, including attending client visits and meetings.
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills to identify connections between issues and actions needed to maintain portfolio compliance.

Schedule

40+ hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 per year, plus potential incentive earnings. Actual pay is based on factors such as budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
