Vice President, Component Services

The Vice President, Component Services is a senior commercial leader responsible for the overall strategy, growth, and financial performance of the Component Services Group, including the Component Services, Coreworks, and Central Procurement business lines. This role provides strategic leadership across the organization, ensuring alignment with Flex's business objectives while driving profitable growth, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall Component Services Group, including:

    • Defining and executing short-, medium-, and long-term business strategies for each business line.
    • Identifying growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive dynamics to drive business expansion and profitability.
    • Ensuring business line strategies align with overall Flex objectives and customer needs.
    • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, efficiency, and customer value.
  • Own P&L performance and financial results across the Component Services Group:

    • Led quarterly forecasts, annual operating plans, and three-year strategic planning processes.
    • Drive accountability for achieving revenue, margin, operating income, and growth objectives.
    • Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions to ensure delivery against commitments.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Senior Directors responsible for business line management and operational execution:

    • Establish clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability measures across the organization.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
    • Partner with HR on talent development, succession planning, organizational design, and workforce planning.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for key customer and supplier relationships:

    • Engage directly with customers to understand business needs, drive strategic partnerships, and support commercial growth.
    • Collaborate with supplier partners to strengthen sourcing strategies, supply continuity, and competitive positioning.
    • Support negotiation and escalation activities as required.
  • Partner closely with:

    • Business Development (BD)
    • Global Account Management (GAM)
    • Commodity Management
    • Strategic Supply Chain
    • Finance
    • Human Resources
    • Drive alignment across functions to achieve business objectives and improve execution.
    • Champion cross-functional initiatives that enhance customer experience, operational performance, and profitability.
  • Present business strategies, financial performance, forecasts, and operational updates to Flex Executive Leadership:

    • Provide strategic recommendations and insights to support executive decision-making.
    • Ensure effective governance, risk management, and business planning processes are in place.
  • Identify and sponsor process, systems, and organizational improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and business performance:

    • Drive adoption of best practices, digital tools, and operational excellence methodologies.
    • Support transformation initiatives that improve visibility, data-driven decision-making, and execution effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required.
    • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in global account management, supply chain, procurement, component services, operations, or related commercial functions.
    • Proven track record leading large, complex global organizations and delivering strong financial results.
    • Experience managing multiple business lines and leading senior-level teams.
    • Demonstrated success in strategy development, P&L management, forecasting, and executive-level customer engagement.
    • Experience presenting to executive leadership and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
    • Exceptional leadership and organizational development skills.
    • Deep understanding of supply chain, procurement, and component markets.
    • Strong financial planning, forecasting, and analytical capabilities.
    • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.

    • Strong customer relationship management and negotiation capabilities.
    • Proven ability to drive transformational change.
