Responsibilities
- Evaluate, analyze, underwrite, and recommend various types of commercial real estate loans for approval.
- Analyze financial statements, assess borrower creditworthiness, and develop cash flow models to support commercial lending opportunities.
- Manage the documentation process and assist in negotiating loan agreements and other credit-related documentation to facilitate closing.
- Prepare ongoing credit evaluations, financial statement analyses, annual reviews, risk ratings, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance and credit quality of an assigned loan portfolio.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and identify opportunities for portfolio growth.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Risk Management, and other Stifel divisions, to effectively manage transactions and client relationships.
- Provide guidance and support to analysts and junior associates while fostering professional development.
- Participate in special projects and other commercial lending initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Understanding of and commitment to compliance with all banking regulations and internal policies.
- Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit analysis, and commercial real estate underwriting.
- Working knowledge of commercial lending practices and applicable regulatory requirements, including OCC and FDIC guidance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with borrowers, banking partners, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to identify issues, assess risks, and develop practical solutions.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong relationship management and business development skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or another business-related field.
- Minimum required: 5+ years' of related work experience in corporate/commercial lending, debt capital markets, finance, or accounting.

Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
