About the role

The Vice President of Clinical Operations for Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) reports to the MHS Chief Financial Officer. This position provides leadership and guides strategic direction for the organization's system-wide clinical functions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and leads enterprise-wide strategies that improve the health outcomes of defined patient populations while reducing costs and enhancing patient and provider experience.
  • Advances value-based care initiatives, manages population health infrastructure, and fosters cross-continuum care coordination.
  • Promotes integrated, data-driven, and patient-centered population health solutions through partnerships with clinical, financial, and operational leaders.
  • Oversees Care Coordination Center (CCC) operations and strategy development, focusing on patient access, throughput, capacity management, remote patient monitoring programs, and other clinical programs.
  • Ensures appropriateness of data analytics and reporting to expedite, prioritize, synchronize, and mediate clinical issues and barriers.
  • Conducts continual analysis of labor cost and management metrics, including MHS system-wide Float Pool, with related projections to assist with decision-making and recommendations to organizational executives.
  • Manages staffing resources and labor management department, overseeing the development and implementation of labor management tools.
  • Strategically and operationally leads the implementation of a new Advance Care Planning and Palliative Care Program at Memorial Healthcare System, ensuring clinical integration of care for patients receiving palliative care services across Memorial Healthcare System.
  • Oversees the strategic and operational leadership of MHS system-wide pre-admission testing services, coordinating and delivering clinical evaluations, diagnostic testing, patient education, and preoperative preparation to ensure patients are medically optimized for scheduled procedures.
  • Collaborates with surgical services, anesthesia, nursing, and administrative leaders to improve patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and enhance the patient experience.

Competencies

  • Education and Certification Requirements: Masters (Required), Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT), Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL).
  • Additional Job Information: Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Required Work Experience: Ten (10) years of progressive hospital nursing leadership.
