Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer

Reid Health is seeking an accomplished, collaborative, and highly visible nursing executive to serve as its next Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the CNO will join Reid at an important point in the organization's evolution, characterized by strong financial performance, growing patient volumes, significant investments in technology and innovation, improving patient experience, and a renewed focus on organizational culture, accountability, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

The Vice President and CNO is the senior executive responsible for nursing practice and nursing leadership across Reid Health. The CNO provides strategic, clinical, operational, and administrative leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care while creating an environment in which nurses and nursing leaders can thrive.

• Serve as an enterprise leader on the executive team, contributing to decisions and strategies that extend beyond nursing.
• Lead the continued transformation of nursing culture and practice, strengthen accountability and engagement, build leadership capability and succession, and advance workforce recruitment and retention strategies.
• Partner closely with Quality and Patient Safety leadership as Reid continues its high-reliability journey.
• Oversee and direct nursing departments and nursing practice across the healthcare system, including Nursing Units, Emergency Services, Urgent Care, Quality and Patient Safety, Cardiovascular Procedures and Diagnostics, ROSE, Crothall, Reid Health Ambulance, and Community Ambulance Partners.
• Provide strategic guidance, administrative expertise, and operational leadership to ensure high-quality patient care and a positive work environment for nursing staff.
• Accountable for strategic planning, development of new services, policy formation, human resource management, organizational effectiveness, financial performance, patient care services operations, and medical and management staff relations.
• Provide leadership to clinically transform the healthcare delivery structure and position the organization as a leader in a value-based/risk delivery model.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master of Science in Nursing or Master of Health Administration preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of leadership experience, with at least five years of senior leadership in a healthcare organization.
• Licensure and Certification: Registered Nurse required.

Expertise in program development, clinical standards development, clinical staffing systems, care models, contracting, information systems, reimbursement, and a broad vision for the future of the healthcare industry are essential to this position.

About the Location

Richmond is a city in East-Central Indiana, bordering Ohio within the Dayton Metropolitan Area. It is the county seat of Wayne County, with a population of over 35,000. Richmond is noted for its historic architecture and is sometimes called the "cradle of recorded jazz" due to its role in early jazz recordings. The city is located about 12 miles south of Hoosier Hill, the highest point in Indiana.
