About the role
The VP & Chief Nurse Executive has authority and responsibility for the provision of patient care services across the enterprise. This position functions as a member of senior management to facilitate effective, efficient patient care, serving as a key participant in defining the hospital's mission, strategic plan, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate effective, efficient patient care
- Participate in assessing the environment, forecasting trends, communicating ideas, developing and implementing policy, initiating and improving programs and systems, and managing resources
- Provide leadership by delineating and maintaining standards of patient care and clinical practice throughout the hospital
- Ensure the attainment of organizational goals and objectives
- Professional development and educational needs of the patient care staff, as well as all other hospital employees
- Internal contacts include governing body members, corporate and hospital executives, physicians, department managers, directors, nursing and other clinical hospital staff, patients, and families
- External contacts include professional peers and groups, community members, groups, agencies, industry associations, educational institutions, and consumers
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing required
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in nursing and senior level management
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
Skills
- Financial knowledge, including operational and capital budgets
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills
Pay
The estimated base rate for this position is $450,000.00 - $500,000.00. Additional individual compensation may be available for this role through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc.
