Vice President, Benefits Consultant
This position can be based near San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, or Portland, and will support a book of business in the West Region.
About the Role
The Client Relationship Manager (CRM) will step into a multi-faceted role offering the opportunity to significantly impact the continued growth of our multiemployer consulting business. The CRM will be a key contributor in the region, with responsibilities spanning client management, consulting, project management, and new business development.
- Primary relationship accountability for assigned clients, including overall servicing responsibility and client satisfaction.
- Understand clients’ issues, anticipate their needs, and navigate potential solutions.
- Establish rapport and build effective working relationships within client organizations.
- Provide creative, innovative, and strategic expertise on employee health and retirement benefits industry issues and developments.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Segal to deliver a full array of consulting services.
- Lead and/or participate in new business development initiatives targeting existing and prospective clients in the Multiemployer market.
- Lead projects involving large or complex, interdisciplinary assignments, coordinating resources within and outside the practice area.
- Ensure a client-centric approach in all project team interactions and deliverables.
- Build consensus around key objectives and motivate/influence behavior to support practice goals.
- Play a proactive role in mentoring and developing staff, contributing to team growth.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting or a related professional services environment, with exposure to retirement or health plan strategies, design, and implementation.
- Undergraduate degree (minimum requirement).
- Ability to step immediately into a direct client contact role.
- Strong business acumen and leadership ability.
- Skill in delivering complex information in actionable terms for clients.
- Ability to analyze issues and develop solutions.
- Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal/written) skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse audience of colleagues and clients.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and prospects.
- Demonstrated success in establishing rapport and building relationships with diverse audiences.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to positively influence and motivate others.
- Experience mentoring and supporting the professional development of staff.
- Ability to effectively identify and resolve conflicts.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $150,500 to $200,000, plus a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
