About the Role
This role is responsible for the overall management of a client’s portfolio once acquired, acting as the primary point of contact for all portfolio management, servicing oversight, servicing transfer, and asset strategy deployed by the company on behalf of a client. The position oversees multiple servicers, trusts, and strategic portfolio initiatives simultaneously across all asset classes. Responsibilities include coordinating servicing transfers, operational reviews, remittance reconciliation, data reconciliation, rendering workout decisions, identifying servicing performance irregularities, and driving enhanced servicer performance.
This role coordinates with the company’s diligence and collateral services teams to define asset-level strategies and curative efforts post-settlement, leveraging loan-level due diligence results. This may involve quantitative and qualitative analysis, reviews of loan documentation and reporting, and assessing compliance with GSE and regulatory guidelines. The Lead is also responsible for meeting client objectives, developing portfolio campaign strategies, customized reporting, and project management functions. Overall quality and performance of the Asset Management Team fall under this position’s responsibility.
The role requires in-office presence 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Maintain visibility into the status of every deal by ensuring reviews are performed appropriately in the system.
- Work with Excel to perform VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other functions to understand and reconcile data.
- Raise potential issues (performance, timeline, etc.) to management attention (VP, SVP, etc.).
- Verify that critical exceptions are correctly applied.
- Identify performance trends and potential enhancements for servicer processes or internal system changes (e.g., servicing workflow enhancements, QC workflow improvements, exceptions, processes).
- Coordinate with diligence and collateral services teams to define asset-level strategies and curative efforts post-settlement.
- Develop portfolio campaign strategies, customized reporting, and project management functions.
- Lead and ensure the overall quality and performance of the Asset Management Team.
- Engage in regular client collaboration, servicer engagement, and reporting of portfolio performance.
- Perform other activities as assigned by your manager.
Requirements
- College degree or training in finance, mortgage banking, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8+ years of industry and/or relevant experience, typically with 2+ years in an AVP-level role or external equivalent.
- Mortgage or secondary market experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Commercial real estate asset management experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with staff and clients.
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data reconciliation).
- Team-oriented with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent PC skills and high proficiency in Microsoft products.
- Strong communication (written and oral) skills.
- Strong analytical ability, good judgment, and strategic, multidimensional thinking.
- Detail-oriented, organized, professional, and punctual.

Pay
The annual full-time base salary range for this role is $180,000.00 - $220,000.00. Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location, and alignment with market data. Certain positions may be eligible for a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines and management approval.
