Vice President, AI Strategy
About the role
The Vice President, AI Strategy drives and supports AI initiatives for the MRCL platform at Publicis Groupe, helping shape how artificial intelligence creates measurable value for the Groupe's clients and internal teams. This role sits at the intersection of technology and business, translating the fast-moving AI landscape into a coherent, actionable strategy that advances MRCL's capabilities and keeps Publicis ahead of the curve. The VP of AI Strategy works cross-functionally with engineering, data, and client-facing teams to identify opportunities, define investment priorities, and champion AI capabilities across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Drive and support MRCL's AI strategy, defining how large language models, generative AI, and agent-based systems are prioritized and deployed across the platform
- Identify and evaluate emerging AI technologies, research, and vendor partnerships, providing a clear point of view on what matters and why
- Translate AI capabilities into business value propositions for internal stakeholders, clients, and Publicis leadership
- Collaborate with product and engineering to shape the AI feature roadmap, ensuring strategic priorities are reflected in build decisions
- Define frameworks for responsible AI use, including bias mitigation, transparency, and governance, ensuring MRCL's AI practices meet the Groupe's ethical standards
- Represent Publicis Groupe's AI perspective in industry forums, client presentations, and thought leadership content
- Align AI investments to measurable outcomes — efficiency gains, revenue impact, and competitive differentiation
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in data, analytics, or technology roles, including 5+ years in leadership positions overseeing cross-functional teams and enterprise client delivery
- Strong command of the AI landscape including large language models, generative AI, and agentic systems
- Strategic thinking with the ability to connect technology capabilities to tangible business and client outcomes
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to make complex AI concepts accessible to diverse audiences
- Experience developing responsible AI frameworks including governance, ethics, and risk management
- Comfort operating cross-functionally across engineering, product, data, and commercial teams
- Ability to evaluate and assess AI vendor and technology partnerships with rigor and commercial awareness
- Thought leadership mindset with experience contributing to industry conversations and executive-level presentations
Pay
USD $168,150.00 - USD $269,217.00/Annually. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.
